Consumer Unit (Fuse Board) Requirements

Your consumer unit must have a spare way available to add a dedicated EV circuit. By law, all new EV circuits must be protected by an RCD and Surge Protection Device (SPD).
If your current consumer unit does not have RCD or SPD protection, we offer three simple solutions:
  1. Add an SPD directly into your existing consumer unit.
  2. Install a secondary, dedicated mini consumer unit with SPD protection.
  3. Upgrade your main consumer unit to a modern, fully compliant version.
