What are the benefits of commercial solar?
Business-advantages...
Is commercial solarright for your business?

Suitable Roof Space & Condition.
Your building is ideal if it has a large structurally sound roof. We handle a free structural survey to confirm viability for warehouses, factories, offices, and more.

High Daytime Energy Usage
Businesses with significant daytime electricity demand get the fastest ROI and maximum savings. If your operations aligns, you could offset a large portion of your bills.

Optimal Orientation & Shading
Clear access to sunlight is essential, no major shading. South facing is ideal, east/west also works well. A quick desktop or site assessment will show your potential generation yield.

DNO Permissions & Compliance
In the vast majority of cases, commercial solar installations qualify as permitted development. We manage DNO approvals and building regs to make the process seamless.
Costs
- 50kW system: £45,000 (around £900/kW)
- 100kW system: £70,000 (around £700/kW)
- 250kW system: £160,000 (around £640/kW)
- 500kW system: £290,000 (around £580/kW)
Expect these typical turnkey prices for well-optimised rooftop systems.
Flexible options like business loans, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), or zero-upfront funding make it accessible – get a tailored quote with your free site assessment.
Savings
- 50kW system: £8,500–£13,000 per year
- 100kW system: £16,000–£27,000 per year
- 250kW system: £43,000-£66,000 per year
- 500kW system: £87,000–£135,000 per year
Transform your energy bills into major annual savings through self-generation and exports.
These figures factor in energy rate & usage – solar locks in protection and turns your roof into a cost-saving asset.
Return on Investment
- 50kW system: Payback in 3–5 years
- 100kW system: Payback in 2.5–4 years
- 250kW system: Payback in 2.5–3.5 years
- 500kW system: Payback in 2–3.3 years
The larger the system and better the match to your usage, the quicker the returns – many businesses go cashflow-positive from year one with smart financing.
The installation process..
Free Consultation & Assessment
It all starts with a no-obligation chat—either over the phone, video call, or in-person. We review your energy bills, discuss your goals and perform a quick desktop review using satellite imagery, and usage data. This gives us an initial idea of system size, potential savings, and feasibility. No commitment required, just a clear insight to help you decide.
Site Survey & feasibility
Once you're interested, we arrange a detailed on-site survey. We assess your roof structure, orientation, shading, electrical setup, and space availability. We also check structural integrity and model energy production using solar design tools. This confirms viability, identifies any issues and refines savings forecast. Surveys are non-invasive and scheduled around your operations.
System Design & Proposals
We create a fully customised design - optimising panel layout, inverter choice, mounting systems and optional add-ons like battery storage or EV chargers. You'll receive a detailed proposal including google earth visuals, projected generation, costs, savings, payback timeline, and financing options. We present everything clearly so you can compare and approve confidently.
Planning & DNO Approvals
We handle all paperwork, including pre-application checks. The key step is grid connection approval via your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) under Engineering Recommendation G99 - essential for systems over 3.68kW. We submit the G99 application (with technical details on inverters, protection settings, etc.) early approvals typically take 14-32 working days for standard Type A projects (<1MW).
Installation
Once approvals are in place and you've signed off, we schedule the build. The process includes:
- Safe access setup (scaffolding or MEWP).
- Mounting frame installation.
- Panel fixing and inverter/switchgear wiring.
- Electrical integration and safety checks.
Timelines vary by size: 50–100kW 1–2 weeks / 250–500kW 2–6 weeks. Our experienced teams follow full health & safety protocols and insurance backed guarantees.
Commissioning & Monitoring
The final step: We test the entire system (electrical safety, performance, grid sync), commission it with the DNO, and register for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments. You'll get a handover pack with warranties (typically 25 years on panels/inverters), and access to our online monitoring portal/app for real-time generation, savings, and alerts. We also offer additional SLA's for after care and maintenance.
